Chapter 17 - I misuse my security team

My second major mistake happened during Theo’s third scheduled visit with Colin.
The exchange location was a private family-services office.
I was not supposed to attend.
I did anyway.
Sat in my car across the street.
Why?
Protection.
Or anxiety wearing a suit.
When Colin arrived, one of my security men followed his car into the parking lot.
Not intentionally intimidating, he later claimed.
Still obvious.
Colin saw him.
Called his attorney.
The visit was delayed.
Alessandra was furious.
“Dad.”
“I didn’t interfere.”
“You put security on my husband.”
“Your estranged husband.”
“Stop.”
I stopped.
She continued:
“This is my custody case.”
“I know.”
“No, you keep saying that.”
Same criticism as Rebecca.
I hated how often women were correct around me.
“You are not going to make Theo’s father feel like he has to pass through your men to see his own child.”
“He asked you to work yourself unconscious.”
“And the court is handling his parenting time.”
Silence.
Then:
“If you do that again, I move off your property.”
There.
A real boundary.
I withdrew security from all parenting exchanges.
My protection had become interference.
Again:

Good intention does not automatically create good conduct.
