Chapter 13 - Elodie’s Interview

The court appointed a child representative when the relocation dispute intensified.
Not my attorney.
Not Nora’s.
Not Sabine’s.
Elodie’s.
She was interviewed privately.
No one coached.
Her statements stayed mostly confidential.
Only recommendations reached us.
The representative reported:
Elodie cared about Sabine.
Elodie cared about Nora.
She was afraid choosing one would hurt the other.
She did not want to move into my house immediately.
She did not want to lose boarding school midyear.
She wanted more contact with Nora.
She was curious about Wren but uncomfortable with Sabine describing them as future sisters without asking.
That finding cut through years of adult assumptions.

Elodie did not want to become the replacement daughter.
Nobody had asked.
