Chapter 17 - The custody hearing he created anyway

He wanted evidence for family court.
He got evidence.
Just not what he wanted.
At the emergency temporary hearing, my lawyer presented:
Hospital records.
Caius’s injury.
Aloysius’s notes.
Rebecca Sloan’s warnings.
The pending criminal case.
His planned relocation.
The court did not terminate his parental rights.
That would have been extreme.
Temporary order:
Children primarily with me.
Aloysius supervised contact initially.
No removal of children from state without agreement or court approval.
No contact with Elise or her child.
No unsupervised hospital/medical appointment attendance involving newborn until review.
Parenting evaluation.
Therapy.
Caius’s contact structured separately based on his comfort and therapist guidance.
Aloysius looked destroyed.
I felt no triumph.
May you like
He was still my children’s father.
That fact did not vanish because he behaved monstrously.
