Chapter 18 - The first custody hearing

Now that Maeve was born, family court could act.

Dorian requested:

Joint legal custody.

Substantial parenting time.

No request for Clarissa as caregiver.

Interesting.

Clarissa’s assault conviction made that politically and practically difficult.

I requested:

Temporary primary physical custody.

Supervised visits initially due the forged parenting plan, coercive conduct, and lack of established infant care.

The judge did not terminate his rights.

The judge did not give me permanent sole custody in one hearing.

Temporary order:

Maeve primarily with me.

Dorian:

Three supervised visits weekly, two hours each.

No Clarissa present.

No removal from county without consent.

Both parents complete parenting education.

Future expansion depending:

Compliance.

Infant bonding.

Criminal case.

No court accepted the forged packet.

In fact, it became evidence against Dorian.

The manufactured status quo failed because we discovered it before birth.
