Chapter 13 - Agatha’s charge

Agatha faced a misdemeanor child-battery charge for the slap.

Defense:

Single incident.

No injury beyond temporary redness.

She claimed Benson grabbed at her and she reacted.

Video showed the slap clearly.

He reached for his plate.

Not for her face.

She accepted a plea.

Misdemeanor battery.

Twelve months probation.

Anger-management course.

No unsupervised contact with Benson during probation unless I and Stellan both agreed or a court modified terms.

Fine.

Restitution for documented medical costs.

No jail.

No felony fantasy.

The court did not rule that every harsh meal rule she ever used was criminal.

The slap was enough.
