Claudia corrected Evelyn’s school application before admissions decisions.
Voluntarily, after her lawyer and counselor advised honesty.
She sent Waverly a letter:
Previous materials overstated Evelyn’s personal role in maintaining a therapeutic demonstration garden. Evelyn participated in family foundation events but did not independently maintain the garden described.
Good.
Then:
The overstatement was mine, not hers.
Better.
Waverly kept the application active.
No dramatic blacklist.
Admissions decisions are holistic.
Evelyn eventually got in.
Claudia almost treated that as vindication.
Evelyn stopped her.
“I don’t want people thinking garden got me in.”
That sentence told me she understood more than adults expected.
At school she joined art club.
