Chapter 6 - The jeweler knew Thayer better than Gwendolyn knew

Lansing & Roe owner, Simon Lansing, called Gwendolyn after hearing the wedding had stopped.
He sounded nervous.
“Mrs.— Ms. Bellamy, I need to clarify something.”
“What?”
“Mr. Cole asked whether we could fabricate a display replica.”
Silence.
“When?”
“Two weeks ago.”
“For what?”
“He said the original was too valuable to wear through the full reception.”
Could that be sensible?
Yes.
High-value jewelry is sometimes substituted with replicas for security.
But Gwendolyn had never agreed.
Simon continued:
“I told him we could create a cubic-zirconia display piece but not in time unless we used a rapid casting vendor.”
“Did you?”
“No. He said he would handle another source.”
There.
May you like
Thayer had sought a replica.
And told nobody.
