Chapter 23 - The civil fight gets uglier

Criminal sentencing did not end the money dispute.
Vellari Executive Services sued:
Aurelia V Hospitality.
Redline Guest Services.
Aurelia individually.
Claims:
Unjust enrichment.
Breach of fiduciary duty.
Conversion.
Accounting.
Civil fraud.
Aurelia counterclaimed:
Unpaid compensation.
Value of client relationships she created.
Commission rights under her employment arrangement.
At first I wanted every counterclaim dismissed.
Independent counsel said:
“Some may have merit.”
Of course.
Her employment agreement granted:
A discretionary 8% incentive on directly sourced outside hospitality revenue if booked through approved company channels.
Redline revenue was not.
But some clients later became Vellari hotel clients.
Could she claim referral commissions?
Possibly for a narrow subset.
Neutral accounting identified:
$44,000
in plausible unpaid commissions unrelated to fraudulent vehicle use.
The company owed her if confirmed.
Bad people can still have valid invoices.

I authorized no settlement personally because of conflict.
The special committee handled it.
