Chapter 26 - Fairmont Academy

Noah stayed at Fairmont.
His choice eventually.
At first I wanted to move him immediately.
Too many memories.
Melissa.
Transfer paperwork.
The lanyard.
His therapist asked:
“Does Noah want to leave?”
I had not asked.
I asked.
“No.”
“Why?”
“My friends are there.”
Simple.
The school had failed administratively.
It also contained teachers he loved.
Friends.
Soccer.
Art class.
One employee’s misconduct did not own the entire building.
Fairmont apologized formally.
Changed procedures.
Paid for a period of counseling support without requiring us to waive unrelated rights.
I respected that.
Accountability without demanding silence.
Noah finished elementary school there.
On his final day, the new registrar handed him his records.
Directly to me.
No secret transfer.

No forged signature.
No surprise.
