My attorney advised me not to interrogate my wife.
I followed that advice.
Police interviewed her.
Chloe’s first explanation was care.
Eleanor wandered.
Forgot meals.
Became combative.
Had to be contained temporarily for safety.
Why remove food?
“Because she claimed food made her nauseated.”
Why did Eleanor deny that?
“Cognitive decline.”
Why disable cameras?
“Privacy.”
Why hide the secondary admin account from me?
“You travel. I handled the house.”
Why create fake motion events?
“I didn’t understand the system.”
Why did her messages to Derek say:
Need Carter to see pattern getting worse.
No useful answer.
Then police found another message.
If we can document enough episodes, he’ll finally agree she needs placement.
There was the motive.
Not murder.
