Chapter 24 - The Cameras

I nearly ripped every camera from the house.

Mom stopped me.

“Why?”

“They were used against you.”

“They also proved what happened.”

Fair.

We redesigned the system.

No hidden cameras in private living spaces.

No bedroom monitoring.

Clear visibility.

Access logs.

Independent administrator.

My mother had her own credentials.

Maya, while she continued working for us, had access appropriate to her job.

No single household member could silently suppress all alerts without creating an audit event.

Security without secret power.

That became the principle.

I also stopped pretending convenience justified ignorance.

I learned the system.

Boring.

Necessary.
