Chapter 9 - The Fall of the Hart Empire
By noon that same day, the news of the scandal erupted across national television networks and social media platforms.
Inside the grand ballroom of the City Financial Center, Victor Hart—Selene’s powerful billionaire father—was hosting a press conference to address rumors of his daughter's arrest.
"These allegations against my daughter and the Hart Group are completely fabricated by organized crime elements!" Victor declared proudly into the microphones, surrounded by three high-powered attorneys.
Suddenly, the heavy oak doors at the back of the press hall exploded open.
Damien Moretti walked down the center aisle, radiating absolute, terrifying authority. He wore a custom three-piece black suit, his dark wavy hair styled back, his full beard immaculately groomed. Walking beside him, holding his hand with complete grace, was five-year-old Lily Moretti, wearing her pale pink party dress with a small gold sunburst pin fastened to her collar.
Behind them walked Marco Rossi, flanked by twelve federal marshals and state prosecutors carrying thick boxes of seized evidence.
The press hall erupted into absolute madness. Camera flashes strobed like lightning as reporters shouted questions.
Victor Hart’s face drained of color as he stared at the mafia boss walking toward the stage with the five-year-old child.
"What is the meaning of this intrusion?" Victor shouted into his microphone.
Damien walked up the stairs onto the main stage, standing right behind the podium. He took the microphone, his deep baritone voice echoing through every speaker in the room.
"Fifteen minutes ago, federal prosecutors executed search warrants on the Hart Group's private servers," Damien announced calmly. "We retrieved the forensic medical records, the offshore bribe payments, and the chemical purchase orders used by Selene Hart and Victor Hart to murder my wife, Clara, six years ago."
Marco stepped forward, placing a certified federal DNA report on the podium.
"And this document," Damien continued, looking directly into the news cameras, "is the verified genetic proof that this child, Lily Moretti, is my legal daughter and sole heir to the Moretti empire."
Federal marshals stepped onto the stage, stepping past Victor’s terrified attorneys and clamping heavy steel handcuffs onto Victor Hart’s wrists.
"Victor Hart, you are under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder, corporate fraud, and child endangerment," the lead marshal declared.

As Victor was forcefully dragged off the stage in front of hundreds of flashing cameras, Damien looked down at Lily. The little girl looked up at her father with a bright, beautiful smile, holding his hand tight.
Damien picked his daughter up into his arms, kissing her cheek as the crowd cheered, officially announcing the return of the true princess of the city.
