Chapter 11 - Daniel’s defense

Daniel denied planning abuse.
His explanation was:
He genuinely believed my relationship with Olivia had become unhealthy.
He said Mara had convinced him that:
“Boundaries had to be strengthened.”
Did he know Olivia would be locked behind the gate?
Yes.
Did he agree with tying or restraining her?
No restraint occurred.
The gate enclosed a small garden section.
She could move freely inside.
Was she physically injured?
No.
Was she terrified?
Yes.
Daniel said:
“I thought it would last two minutes.”
The video showed eleven before I arrived.
Then another nine until police came and Mara opened it.
Twenty minutes.
