Chapter 24 - Simone’s life continues

Simone completed probation.
No new offense.
She stayed in therapy after the court requirement ended.
Her architectural firm eventually let her go during restructuring about a year after her conviction.
Was the conviction part of the decision?
Probably.
The company did not say publicly.
She later found work in a smaller design-services company.
Lower salary.
Individual contributor.
No staff management initially.
She moved to another neighborhood.
No poverty.
No cinematic collapse.
I heard through attorneys that she began volunteering with an adult literacy program after probation.
Good.
Maybe.
Not my story to verify.
The point was not whether she became a saint.
It was that consequence did not have to mean permanent social death.
Eli did not need her destroyed.
He needed distance.
May you like
He had it.
