Chapter 12 - Daniel seeks emergency orders

Daniel filed in family court.

Requests:

Temporary sole decision authority over education.

Restriction on unilateral relocation.

No boarding-school enrollment without written consent/court order.

Temporary primary physical custody.

Victoria opposed.

She had not physically abused Sophie.

Correct.

She had pressured her psychologically.

Altered court-order excerpt.

Attempted unilateral school placement.

Court issued narrow temporary order:

Sophie remained with Daniel during school week.

Victoria received supervised or professionally supported contact initially? Need not overdo. Because no direct physical danger, court allowed daytime visits under agreed monitor? Better:

Victoria received scheduled daytime parenting time, with exchanges through neutral location.

No discussion of boarding school or Noah.

No disparagement.

No travel out of state without consent.

Why not supervised?

Because evidence supported manipulation, not immediate physical danger to Sophie.

A parenting coordinator? Avoid evaluator-heavy.

Court appointed a child representative and ordered short focused psychological assessment.

Reasonable.

Then Victoria’s attorney argued:

Daniel was weaponizing engagement collapse.

Judge:

“The altered school document is not about an engagement.”

Exactly.

Then Sophie.

She wanted to see her mother.

Daniel allowed within order.

First visit lasted four hours.

Sophie came home quiet.

“What happened?”

“Nothing.”

Later she told therapist:

“Mom cried and said everyone hates her.”

That placed emotional burden on Sophie.

Court warned Victoria.

Next violation could narrow contact.
