The criminal false-instrument case turned on intent.
Defense:
Victoria’s assistant accidentally edited summary.
Victoria submitted without noticing.
Assistant Grace Miller testified.
“I created no custody summary.”
Did Victoria ask her?
“No.”
Laptop forensic logs showed PDF edited under Victoria’s personal profile.
Could someone else use it?
Possible.
Then email from Victoria to school admissions:
I’ve attached relevant operative paragraph. Daniel will object but his consent is not required under current order.
She believed—or claimed—that.
Then her family lawyer had emailed two weeks earlier:
Daniel’s consent remains required for school change. Do not proceed unilaterally.
That was devastating.
She knew.
Then why alter?
To get application moving before Daniel discovered.
