Chapter 8 - The lake house email

Digital forensics from devices voluntarily produced during family litigation revealed an email Victoria sent to private household consultant Lydia Kent.

Lydia specialized in luxury household transitions.

Nothing illegal.

Victoria wrote:

After marriage I want the main residence adult-focused for at least six months.

Lydia:

With two children that may be difficult.

Victoria:

They won’t both be there.

Then:

Sophie starts Hawthorne. Noah goes lake with caregiver.

Lydia:

Has Raffaele agreed?

Victoria:

He will once he sees how peaceful the house is.

There.

No consent.

Expectation.

Then Lydia:

Separation from a three-year-old’s primary parent for household convenience is not something I can recommend.

Victoria:

His primary caregiver is Margaret.

Lydia:

You should confirm that with his father and pediatric provider.

Victoria ended conversation.

Did not hire Lydia.

Instead she built plan herself.

Then another email to wedding planner:

Extend travel holds through October. Child arrangements handled.

Noah’s school? He was three, preschool.

She contacted preschool:

Possible temporary withdrawal.

Reason:

Extended family travel.

No authorization.

School replied:

Need parent.

Nothing changed.

Again, many plans were still drafts.

The danger was not that Victoria had already legally removed children.

It was that she was manufacturing administrative momentum.

Deposits.

Appointments.

Draft notices.

Transfers.

Then after wedding, she would present them as settled.
