Chapter 5 - Clarissa’s explanation

Police interviewed Clarissa at the gala.
Her first claim:
Tilly tripped.
Security footage destroyed that.
Her second:
She put her foot out to stop Tilly from running.
Also contradicted.
Her third:
She had meant to frighten her, not make her fall.
Closer.
Then police asked about her statement concerning Seraphina.
Clarissa said:
“I was angry.”
“Did you know who ordered Seraphina Bellafonte’s death?”
“No.”
“Then why say you would tell Orson?”
“To upset him.”
The detective asked:
“Why that specific threat?”
Clarissa answered:
“Everyone knows he’s obsessed with finding out.”
Possible.
Not convincing.
