Chapter 6 - The deal

Clarissa had mentioned:

“Our deal.”

It was worth:

$92 million.

Not cash into her pocket.

The Bellafonte Group was negotiating to acquire Dane Secure Logistics, a high-value transport and bonded-storage company partially owned by Clarissa through her late husband’s estate.

The company transported:

Jewelry.

Fine art.

Auction inventory.

Precious metals.

Museum loans.

The acquisition would give my legitimate logistics businesses a national luxury-security network.

Clarissa would receive:

Cash.

Rollover equity.

Debt relief.

A five-year advisory agreement.

Why was the gala important?

Final terms were scheduled to be signed the following morning.

The charity event brought:

Both families.

Company directors.

Major clients.

Lenders.

Everyone into one place.

Clarissa believed the transaction had become inevitable.

Then she kicked my daughter.

“One spoiled brat won’t stop our deal.”

She miscalculated.

Within an hour I instructed counsel:

No signing.

No closing.

Preserve every diligence file.

The deal was frozen.

Not canceled yet.

May you like

Frozen.

That distinction became important.
