Not every guest knew.
Most did not.
One investor later testified:
“I believed Alex had approved the presentation because we were sitting in his home.”
Another:
“Evelyn referred to it as a Vance family project.”
Nathan Cole claimed he corrected that language privately.
Nobody remembered hearing him.
Two guests had already signed preliminary indications totaling:
$1.4 million.
No funds had transferred yet.
That fact significantly limited financial loss.
