Chapter 25 - The first wedding invitation
A year after the canceled ceremony? We should keep same months, not year. Let's say ten months later, within year, Sophie receives another wedding invite. Could be Nathan's wedding. But age still 6. Fine.
Nathan got married at a small vineyard.
He asked me to be best man.
Sophie received an invitation too.
She stared at it.
“Do I have to flower?”
“No.”
“Can I just sit?”
“Yes.”
“Near you?”
“Yes.”
At the wedding venue, she became tense when she saw a bridal-suite door.
I noticed.
“Want to leave?”
“No.”
“Want to stay outside?”
“No.”
Then:
“I want cake.”
Reasonable.
She stayed.
No secret phone.
No screaming.
No adult dragging her into a room.
Nathan married.
Sophie danced badly.
