Chapter 13 - The Closing Deadline

Why had Sunday become violent?
Because Monday was a banking day.
Tuesday was scheduled closing.
The lender had flagged the gift on Friday.
My verbal denial froze acceptance of the funds.
To cure the problem, Natalie would need legitimate funds and proper documentation.
She did not have enough.
Dad believed if he could get me to transfer $180,000 before Monday morning, the fake letter would become:
“basically accurate.”
Again:
No.
But he was thinking practically, not legally.
Money lands.
Rachel confirms.
House closes.
Family moves on.
That was the plan.
When I refused at Sunday dinner, the deadline became physical pressure.
Dad’s violence was not spontaneous in the sense of:
Nobody knew money would be discussed.
But I found no evidence they planned to assault me or my children before I arrived.
That distinction mattered.
Coercion was planned.

Violence escalated.
The law could evaluate each separately.
