Chapter 11 - Why she needed me to marry her

The production option had a credibility problem.

Seraphina was my fiancée.

Not spouse.

Not employee of my companies.

Not representative of my family.

The studio would not pay the largest bonus based purely on her promises.

A milestone clause required:

Documented principal-family cooperation or comparable lawful access sufficient for production.

Marriage would not magically transfer ownership of my records.

But it would make her pitch stronger socially.

She believed becoming Mrs. Rourke would:

Increase perceived authority.

Improve access.

Make relatives trust her.

Give her more opportunity to obtain signatures and permissions.

Her messages to the agent:

Once December is done, they stop treating me as temporary.

And:

The girl is the only variable M won’t compromise on.

Anouk was not financially blocking Seraphina.

She was emotionally blocking her.

I would compromise:

Travel.

Business.

Public image.

My own schedule.

Not my child.

Seraphina understood that.

So she started trying to prove Anouk was:

Difficult.

Unstable.

May you like

Spoiled.

In need of stricter schooling.
