Initial payment:

Additional development payment if she delivered specified materials:
$325,000.
Production bonus if the series received a full order:
Up to $1.25 million.
Consulting fee:
$25,000 per episode.
Executive-producer credit subject to final terms.
None of that was automatically illegal.
People sell memoir rights.
Consulting access.
Personal stories.
The problem was what she claimed she could provide.
The contract contained representations that she either owned or had authority to license materials she supplied.
She did not own:
My private files.
Celeste’s letters.
Corporate board records.
Anouk’s medical documents.
Security footage.
Confidential legal correspondence.
