Chapter 13 - The production company freezes everything

My lawyers contacted the company.
It did not publish anything.
Did not release a trailer.
Did not leak the files.
It immediately froze development.
Returned digital materials to counsel where appropriate.
Preserved evidence.
Suspended Seraphina’s agreement pending legal review.
Its general counsel wrote:
“We were repeatedly assured all materials were lawfully controlled and that Mr. Rourke’s participation was anticipated.”
I believed them after reviewing correspondence.
They had pushed for:
Releases.
Ownership warranties.
Clearance.
Seraphina kept saying:
“Coming after marriage.”
The company had made a risky business judgment.

It had not asked her to abuse Anouk or steal confidential files.
The distinction mattered.
