Chapter 11 - The badge

My contractor badge became part of Ryan’s defense.
He claimed:
“You had access. You could have changed records.”
Technically true that I had system access.
So investigators audited me.
Every login.
Every file I opened.
Every edit.
Every approval.
Result:
I had never approved a Carter Field Logistics payment.
My role restrictions worked.
The few files I touched had been opened during assigned review.
I had preserved copies after identifying anomalies.
No unauthorized changes.
No payment influence.

My badge did not implicate me.
It helped prove exactly what I had—and had not—done.
