Chapter 21 - Evelyn’s assault case

The baton assault remained separate.
She pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault.
Because:
One strike.
Limited physical injury.
No prior criminal record.
Then her conduct after.
She repeatedly blamed me.
That hurt her at sentencing.
Requirements:
Eighteen months probation.
Anger-management treatment.
Community service.
No direct contact with me.
Restitution for uncovered medical costs.
The judge told her:
May you like
“Your late husband’s service record did not authorize your conduct.”
For once, Evelyn had no answer.
