I was examined that evening.
Bruised cheek.
Swelling.
Minor cut inside my mouth.
No fracture.
No concussion.
No serious eye injury.
Evelyn also went through a medical examination later because, during the confrontation, I had grabbed her wrist briefly after she raised the baton a second time.
She had mild redness.
Nothing else.
I had not struck her.
Ryan initially told investigators:
“Lisa escalated everything.”
Officer Grant asked:
“Did she hit your mother?”
“No.”
“Did she threaten her?”
Ryan hesitated.
