Chapter 21 - The aquatic director’s email

Morgan Hale later sent Pierce an email.
Not hostile.
Professional.
She wrote:
Children who are fearful around water do not undermine a family-oriented aquatic program. A program that cannot safely accommodate fearful children does.
Pierce printed it.
Kept it in his office.
I asked why.
“Because that is the sentence I should have understood before all of this.”
Greyhaven’s revised aquatic plan later added:
Optional dry-land orientation.
No-pressure observation days.
Clear flotation standards.
Private accommodations for anxious children.
