Chapter 6 - Melissa’s invoices

My bank provided transaction metadata.
The recurring charges came through a merchant processor linked to Melissa Grant Home Services LLC.
Invoice descriptions included:
Household package.
Property management.
Senior household support.
Home concierge.
Maintenance allocation.
Lifestyle services.
Senior household support.
That one angered me.
I called the processor and asked for merchant invoices associated with my card.
They could not simply disclose Melissa’s private records.
But as cardholder, I could dispute charges and request supporting documentation through the bank.
So I did.
Melissa’s company then had to produce evidence of authorization.
The first invoices arrived through my bank’s dispute process.
Example:
October Household Services Package — $5,700
Line items:
Mortgage participation: $2,200
Utilities allocation: $760
Groceries: $640
Property upkeep: $900
Household management fee: $1,200
Mortgage participation.
I had never agreed to pay their mortgage.
Household management fee.
For what?
Melissa was charging me $1,200 to manage the household where I cooked dinner four nights a week.
Then another invoice:
Entertainment and family hosting allocation: $880
That month I had paid separately for Thanksgiving groceries.
Another:
Residential capital reserve: $1,500
What was that?
Apparently money accumulated for:
Repairs.
Appliances.
Home improvements.
Their house.

Their equity.
My card.
