Chapter 15 - The Relocation Petition

Vanessa filed formally.
Permission to relocate Lily’s primary residence to Washington with her.
Reasons:
Daniel’s job.
Improved household income.
Excellent preschool options.
Larger home.
Career opportunities for Vanessa.
Those were legitimate factors.
Then:
Need for greater household stability due to behavioral dysregulation associated with inconsistent extended-family boundaries.
That was aimed at me.
My lawyer objected.
Not to Seattle.
To the characterization.
We submitted:
Preschool records.
Pediatric assessment.
Patio video.
Visitation logs.
Messages showing I generally followed Vanessa’s rules.
Not perfectly.
I had once returned Lily forty minutes late.
Once allowed ice cream after Vanessa asked me to limit sugar.
I admitted both.
