Chapter 24 - Seattle Again

One year later, Daniel received another Seattle offer.
This time they handled it differently.
Vanessa told me before filing anything.
“We’re considering it.”
I answered:
“Okay.”
She looked suspicious.
“No threat?”
“No.”
“We’ll need to modify visitation.”
“Yes.”
“We may disagree.”
“Probably.”
That was healthier.
The new plan included:
Long summer blocks.
Monthly video calls.
Travel costs largely paid by Vanessa and Daniel because the move created them.
Visits with Michael’s parents coordinated nearby.
A school calendar.
Therapist input.
No claim Lily needed distance from me.
The judge approved relocation the second time.
That hurt.
I hated it.
