Chapter 10 - Heather’s plan was to make us “unsafe” for the family

Heather could not force David to sell his future trust interest.

So she tried to change the emotional landscape.

Her messages showed a pattern.

To a friend:

If Mom thinks Joanna’s kid is always stealing, breaking things, causing drama, she’ll push David to cash out.

Another:

He listens to Mom when family peace is at stake.

Then:

Need enough incidents that Joanna stops bringing Louisa over.

The bracelet was not the first incident.

Three months earlier:

A missing pearl earring.

Found later inside Heather’s cosmetics bag.

At the time she said:

“I must have tossed it in by mistake.”

Two months earlier:

$60 disappeared from Lydia’s kitchen drawer.

Heather suggested Louisa had played near it.

The cash was never found.

A month later:

A porcelain figurine broke.

Heather told Lydia:

“Louisa was running in here.”

Camera footage from a different angle later showed Walter’s cat knocking it over.

No one had checked.

Each event created the same story:

Joanna’s child is disruptive.

Joanna is defensive.

David will eventually choose peace over property.

Then came the bracelet.

Heather took it intentionally.

Her plan, according to later messages, was not for Louisa to be harmed physically.

She expected:

Accusation.

Argument.

Joanna storming out.

David getting dragged into family conflict.

Then more pressure to sell.

But after I left Louisa overnight, Lydia escalated the punishment beyond anything Heather claimed she expected.

That was why Heather whispered:

“Mom, don’t.”

Then she still failed to stop it.

Worse, she filmed.

Why?

A message to her friend explained:

Maybe Joanna seeing how serious Mom is will finally keep them away.

Heather did not plan the shaving.

But once it started, she converted it into leverage.

That distinction mattered legally.

Not morally enough.

Legally.
