Chapter 26 - The bracelet comes back

Lydia eventually gave the gold bracelet to David.
Not Heather.
Not me.
She said:
“I don’t want it.”
David brought it home.
“What should we do?”
I stared at it.
Sell?
Store?
Give back?
Louisa walked in.
“What that?”
I looked at David.
He said:
“Old bracelet.”
Louisa shrugged.
“Ugly.”
Problem solved.
We sold it.
After expenses, the proceeds went into a local child-advocacy nonprofit.
