Chapter 23 - Greta’s family office investigation

Greta had not committed a crime merely by planning investments and trust amendments.
But my attorneys discovered something requiring review.
One presentation given to a private Crane investor stated:
Post-marital Lucchesi family assets expected to contribute approximately $20M+ of strategic co-investment capacity.
That included assumptions involving Mina’s trust.
No commitment existed.
No trustee approval.
No marriage.
The investor asked:
“Is this committed?”
Greta’s team answered:
Expected following family consolidation.
Potentially misleading.
Regulators and civil attorneys reviewed whether any investor relied materially on it.
Most Crane investments were independent of us.
One investor negotiated a side allocation based partly on expected Lucchesi participation.
Greta’s family office refunded that allocation with interest rather than fight.
No fraud conviction.
No prison.
But compliance controls were strengthened.
