Chapter 3 - My slap

Veronica was treated separately.
My open-handed strike had sent her backward.
She hit the cake table.
No fracture.
No head injury.
Bruised hip.
Facial swelling.
Minor cuts from broken glass nearby.
Mina had already been returned to her wheelchair before I hit Veronica.
So legally?
The immediate danger had passed.
I had retaliated.
My attorney told me:
“You protected Mina by lifting her. You punished Veronica afterward.”
“Yes.”
“Do you understand the difference?”
“Yes.”
“Good. Because the camera does.”
The ballroom had security footage.
Everything was preserved.
Her violence.
Mine.
No editing.
