Chapter 60

The sun began its slow, majestic descent over the Tuscan horizon, painting the sky in breathtaking hues of amber, rose, and deep violet.

The quiet evening settled over the estate like a soft, velvet blanket. The ambient lights of the villa flickered on, casting a warm, golden illumination across the stone terraces and the ancient olive groves.

Dante and Maya sat together on the wide wooden porch steps, watching the stars begin to sparkle in the twilight sky. Sophia was inside the living room, softly playing a sweet classical melody on the piano, while Leo slept peacefully in his crib upstairs.

Maya leaned her head comfortably against Dante’s broad shoulder, holding his large, calloused hand in hers, their fingers tightly intertwined.

"Do you ever wonder what our lives would be like if I had never walked into your office that day in New York?" Maya asked softly, looking out at the peaceful, sunlit hills.

Dante turned his head, looking down at his beautiful wife, his pale gray eyes rich with an absolute, eternal devotion.

"If you had not walked into my life, Maya, I would have remained a ghost," Dante answered smoothly, his deep voice carrying an unshakeable, divine truth. "I would have remained a man trapped in a cold world of dark shadows, violence, and endless noise. You didn't just save my life, Maya; you gave me a soul. You brought light into the dark, and you turned a monster into a man capable of loving with every beat of his heart."

Maya smiled, tears of happiness glinting in her eyes as she pressed her cheek against his chest, listening to the steady, powerful rhythm of his heart.

"I love you, Dante Russo," Maya whispered.

"I love you, Maya Russo," Dante replied softly, pressing a tender kiss against the top of her head. "Forever and always."

Together, they sat on the porch steps, wrapped in each other's arms, watching the quiet beauty of the Tuscan night unfold before them. The fears, the bullets, the lies, and the dangerous wars of the past were gone forever, replaced by an unbreakable bond of love, safety, and an eternal family sanctuary that would shine brightly under the sky for all eternity.
